Well, I finally got Itty to try bathing in the great outdoors. No fancy shampoos or hair products. He went out with me and dipped his toes in the pond. (That's me behind him under the trees).

Then our big friend Troy came along to show him how...

But Troy got carried away, and SPLASHED Itty! Uh oh!

And that was the end of that! Darn. I almost got Itty to join me in my big outdoor bathtub!

Itty has had enough

Back to the barn for his "proper" bath.

To be fair to my pal Itty, he was a show mini when he was young. He was bathed and brushed until every hair was just right. I guess that's where he learned about all those flowery smelling shampoos and sprays. He was taken to big fairgrounds and arenas and led around to show off his beautiful coat, his fluffy mane and tail, and his all around good looks.

But now that we're just pasture buddies, I tell him he doesn't have to strut his stuff ALL THE TIME. A little dirt is good for everybody.

And, even though I don't smell like a flower, kids like me too.
